SDS and the Ministry of Finance of the RS contradicted on Excises

Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) called on the Minister of Finance in the Government of the RS Zoran Tegeltija not to deceive the public, and to publish the information on the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH on which was discussed a letter of intent to the IMF, when the Council of Ministers of BiH voted on it and when it approved the arrangement with the IMF?

“He will not find that session of the Council of Ministers because the arrangements with the IMF was made outside institutions, in an unconstitutional and illegal way where six people from three political parties – SNSD, SDA, and HDZ sit, sign a letter of intent to the IMF and put citizens into indebtedness,” as said in the statement of SDS.

“We want to warn Minister Tegeltija that such arrangements are inconsistent with the Law on Borrowing, Debt and Guarantees and the Law on the Procedure of Conclusion and Implementation of International Treaties of BiH, which once the member of Presidency of BiH  Nebojsa Radmanovic used to claim,” as stated from the SDS.

SDS claims that they have nothing to do with the arrangement with the IMF, but it is well known that the arrangement can be achieved only if there is agreement on all levels of government, governments of the RS, the FBiH and the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“Representatives of these institutions in the Fiscal Council signed the Letter of Intent. It is clear that the arrangement with the IMF could not be reached without the agreement of Serbian ministers in the Council of Ministers of BiH,” as stated from the Ministry of Finance of the RS.

They invited the SDS to inform the public and representatives of international financial institutions whether they support the Reform Agenda and the arrangement with the IMF as a whole, and their response will be acceptable for this ministry.

They also noted that the possible increase in excise taxes on petroleum products will not affect the price of diesel fuel that is used by farmers in the RS.
