Govt-2.0-key-vis1As part of the second day of the conference Government 2.0, being held in Sarajevo and organized by the Foundation for New Communications Dokukino and Association of Government Communicators of South East Europe SEECOM, representatives of civil society organizations will speak about the ways that policy comes into practice.

Also, a fair will be held today of the best practice, which would offer attendees the opportunity to see the best mobile and web solutions designed for monitoring the responsibility of the authorities and the transparency of their work.

In today’s discussion there will be participation by the Association Zašto Ne, Youth Information Agency, Transparency International, Oštra Nula, Center for Investigative Reporting, Center for Information Decontamination of Youth Banja Luka and heroj.me platform.

The fair of best practices is designed as a one-hour program, during which there will be a parallel presentation of the 20 most innovative projects from the region of the Western Balkans, and attendees will have the chance to become more familiar with the project teams and to learn about using new technologies in the aim of solving some problems in our society.

Also as part of the campaign, ‘Open Ideas for the Balkans’ will support more than 20 innovative web and mobile projects from the entire region that contributes to reducing corruption and establishing quality, permanent communication of government with citizens, and would receive financial support.

Conducting a survey among the citizens with questions of which communication channels are necessary to them in order to more efficiently communicate with their elected representatives, offline and online campaigns are key to providing fully relevant information, public discussions and lectures on parliamentarians in which they could directly respond to questions by citizens, creating strong and updated profiles on social networks through which citizens and representatives of NGO’s could openly and without censorship communicate with the government, are only some of the conclusions of the first day of the conference.

‘’We had a very productive first day of the conference where we had examples of best practices, through discussions and workshops, and through this came to constructive proposals to improve communication between the government and citizens. I believe that we will also have this today when we gather colleagues from civil society and come to new ideas on how to overcome the challenges we face’’, said President of the Foundation for New Communication Dokukino Darko Soković.

The conference will end by concluding remarks on how much ‘Government 2.0’ could help citizens and communicators, how communicators could contribute by ensuring that citizens hear the message of ‘Government 2.0’ and what are further steps that would contribute to a better relationship between representatives of government and civil society, announced the organizers.
