The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs continuously carries out intensified operational activities aimed at controlling the movement and stay of foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to combat illegal migration and the removal of illegal migrants from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the last seven days, the Service has removed 13 foreign citizens from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including five citizens of Afghanistan, four citizens of Albania and four citizens of Turkey. Foreign nationals were previously ordered to be expelled, and the persons were supervised at the Immigration Center until they were removed from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pursuant to the Readmission Agreement with the Republic of Serbia, four Afghan nationals were returned to the Republic of Serbia, while other persons were returned to their countries of origin.
Inspectors for foreigners, in cooperation with police officers, carried out joint operational activities to control the facilities where migrants gather in the area of Una-Sana and Tuzla Canton.
These activities resulted in the discovery of eight foreign nationals from Morocco, Libya, Pakistan, Algeria and Cuba who were found to have entered or resided illegally on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Service for Foreigners Affairs expelled the said foreign nationals with a ban on entry and residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a period of one to five years and they were placed under surveillance in the Immigration Center or restricted from moving to a certain place until leaving the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Also in the mentioned period, the Service cancelled the temporary stay for two citizens of Namibia, due to the fact that the circumstances on the basis of which the stay was approved changed.
Since the beginning of 2020, 15,057 migrants have been the subject of work of the Service for Foreigners Affairs, of which 14,144 have expressed their intention to apply for asylum, of which 225 migrants have been the subject of work in the last seven days alone, of which 209 have expressed their intention to apply for asylum. .
There are currently 6,210 migrants in temporary reception centers.
