islamic-community-assemblyRegular session of the current Assembly of Islamic Community in BiH was held yesterday, under the chairmanship by the President Hasan Čengić.

Reis ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein Effendi Kavazović addressed the present councilors and reminded of the activities of the Riyasat and its administrative bodies,

“Islamic Community is closely monitoring the events in the Middle East. Tragedy of the Syrian people leads to the entire exodus of the nation. We organized the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Syria several times. The aid we sent exceeded the amount of 500.000 BAM, and we launched another campaign which is in progress now. Through the Office for Social Care we will monitor the situation and send help. What especially concerns me is the situation in our jemaats and communities in Republika Srpska,” said Kavazović.

Director of the Office for Financial Affairs Zejnil Rebihić presented the draft proposal of the budget of the Riyasat, while the Director of the Office for Legal and Administrative Affairs Ismail Smajlović presented the Action Plan of the Riyasat for the next year. Both were unanimously adopted by the Assembly.

This is already the second year that the Assembly adopts the budget and the action plan for the next year during the current year.

At the proposal by the Reis ul-Ulema Husein Effendi Kavazović, the Assembly confirmed the appointment of Vahid Effendi Fazlović as the Mufti of Tuzla for the next term.

The Assembly also adopted the Rulebook on organization and work of the Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Waqf and Rulebook on the Use of the Banner of the Islamic Community.
