Session of FB&H House of Peoples on Security Situation

dom-naroda-fbihAn extraordinary session of the House of Peoples of the FB&H, dedicated to the security situation in the FB&H in the context of the protests that have been ongoing since the beginning of the month, is announced to take place in Sarajevo today, two days after this issues was placed on the table of the House of Representatives.

The FB&H Minister of Interior Predrag Kurteš and Director of the FB&H Police Administration Dragan Lukač addressed the House of Representatives, and presented information on the security situation from 5 to 20 February.

Regarding the rioting on 7 February, which escalated with a confrontation between protestors and police and resulted in injuries on both sides and the burning of institution buildings, Lukač said that ‘’the worst is behind us’’, but protests will continue and the security dimension will be monitored.

On the question of one MP as to whether it is possible to expect more massive protests, he answered that it is possible this could take place on 7 March, exactly one month after the riots.
