Government of RS sessionA session of the Government of RS was announced last night at 10.00 p.m. However, as it was announced, this session has been postponed for today.

A reason for the session was not specified in the announcement of the entity Government.

It can be assumed that the reason for convening the session of the Government of RS was the session of the UN Security Council about the resolution on Srebrenica.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksanadar Vucic, also scheduled an urgent session of the Government of Serbia.

The Security Council of the UN postponed voting on the British draft resolution that condemns the massacre in Srebrenica in 1995 during the Bosnian war as a “crime of a genocide“, after Russia announced that it will veto the resolution.

Supporters of the resolution hoped that it will be adopted unanimously in order to mark the 20th anniversary of the massacre committed by the Bosnian Serbs on more than 8.000 Bosniak men and boys that sought for shelter in what should be the protected zone of the UN. Leaders of Bosnian Serbs and Serbia, who have close religious and cultural relations with Russia, lobbied with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to vote against the resolution.

A Bosnian ambassador in the UN, Mirsada Colakovic, said that Russia informed other members of the Council about its decision to veto.
