A total of eight contracts on the construction of housing facilities for citizens whose homes were destroyed in the floods, were signed in Gracanica.
The project is implemented by UNDP within the framework of the EU Floods Recovery Programme, and a part of the funds was provided by the Environmental Protection Fund of the FB&H.
Gracanica municipality granted free land for the construction of eight houses, and it will bear the costs of licensing and consents, as well as the arrangement of the municipal infrastructure and access roads to the localities on which these facilities will be constructed. The municipality will pay for the construction of the foundation for each of eight buildings in amount of 5,000 BAM for every house.
Head of the Regional Office of UNDP in Doboj Sinisa Ubiparipovic, who attended the signing of the contracts, said that this project includes the construction of 150 housing units for citizens who were left homeless after last year’s floods. Eight standard houses, ground floor, with solid construction will be built in Lukavica, on the surface of 27 m2 – 72 m2, depending on the number of family members. Total value of this project is 7 million BAM and the value of houses in Lukavica is around 39,000 BAM.
