The Association of Employers in the Federation of BiH (UPFBiH), together with trade unions from the real sector, through the Economic and Social Council for the territory of the Federation of BiH, agreed on measures for a significant increase in all wages and salaries, which should start already in the first few months of 2023, if the authorities react quickly to the said initiatives, UPFBiH president Adnan Smailbegović said today in Sarajevo.
UPFBiH considers the issue of solving the labor shortage in BiH to be urgent and emphasizes that the priority is to create conditions for retaining the labor force in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, among others, they will deal with issues of public procurement, VAT, issues of improving the conditions for the development of the energy sector, abolishing or reducing parafiscal levies at all levels, and insist on the urgent adoption of the Law on Contributions in order to reduce the burden of labor costs.
“We have prepared a solution that should be of a temporary nature, and we worked on it with the trade union representatives, and it would consist in simply enabling all companies to increase wages up to 400 KM and to either not pay contributions to that amount or to pay some symbolic contributions,” said Smailbegović.
On behalf of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Samir Kurtović pointed out that there is an exceptional social dialogue and that good cooperation will be continued. He added that by signing seven collective agreements, they solved many issues that were a problem in the past period.
“Our common goal is to improve the status of all workers in the FBiH, especially in the real sector, in the coming period,” said Kurtović, Fena news agency reports.
