The exports of the defense industry of BiH in 11 months of this year amounted to 263 million BAM, which is 8.3 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.

At a meeting of the members of the Special Purpose Production Group at the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, the analysis of the foreign trade exchange of weapons and military equipment was discussed and it was pointed out that only a few companies that make up this sector manage to achieve excellent results.

It is estimated that in 2022, the same results as in the previous year will be recorded. The leading export markets were the USA (64 million BAM), Saudi Arabia (52 million BAM), Turkey (42 million BAM), Serbia (16 million BAM) and Poland (14 million BAM). As in previous years, we mostly exported ammunition for military weapons, revolvers and pistols (70 percent).

After submitting the Report on the work of the Group in the past period, the members considered proposals for the work of the Group in 2023.

The focus of the presented proposals was the reduction of administrative barriers and the improvement of the business environment, as well as proposals for export promotion activities through joint appearances at international specialized fair events, Fena news agency writes.
