Members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) arrested today on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the basis of an Interpol red notice, three persons suspected of being members of an international organized crime group related to human smuggling, known as the “Al Sarawi Clan”.

This organized crime group is actively operating on the territory of the EU.

The operational action “Euphrates” was carried out in cooperation with the judicial and police authorities of Germany, as well as other EU countries as part of “OTF 505”, SIPA announced.

When carrying out activities on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA established cooperation with the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs and the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The arrested persons will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will decide on the extradition of the suspects to the territory of Germany in the extradition procedure.
