WWF action ‘Earth Hour’ encourages households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change and 7000 cities from more than 150 countries participated in this action, and many cultural and natural sights turned off their lights.

In BiH this action marked its 5th anniversary, and 16 towns of BiH turned off their lights. In Mostar, decorative lights on Stari Most were turned off, in Banja Luka – Banski dvori and Museum of Contemporary Arts, Zvornik – Đurđev grad, Goražed – Gradski most, Doboj – Gradina castle.

Many towns like Banja Luka, Mostar and Bugojno took their own initiative and organised all day celebration and actions in the spirit of the campaign: small daily activities that mean a lot in raising the awareness of BiH citizens.

Next ‘Earth Hour’ will be organised on 29 March 2014.
