Skiing Tracks on Bjelašnica Ready

NA BJELAŠNICI SKIJAŠKE STAZE "IŠÈEŠLJANE", SKI-LIFTOVI SPREMNI, PRVI BORDERI NA STAZAMAAlthough the skiing season on the Sarajevo Olympic Mountains has not officially started, everything is ready to welcome skiers, snowboarders and all fans of snow.

On Bjelašnica skiing tracks are prepared, ski lifts ready, and last weekend the first riders tested “the field”. Many climbers and hikers were on Bjelašnica last weekend.

Nearly 200 students of memorial climb reached the peak of Bjelašnica, Opservatorij, and enjoyed in the snow and nice weather. Mountain climbers from Belgrade, Split, Plava, Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica, Tuzla and East Sarajevo climbed the peak of Bjelašnica on Saturday in memory of seven young men who lost their lives in this area on 2 December 1962 during a snow storm.

Everything is ready for the start of the ski season on Igman, Bjelašnica, Jahorina and Vlašić, and hosts will be waiting for their first guests of ski sports and also for a lot of snow. Meteorologists predict heavy snow falls by the end of January and  the beginning of February.
