The airline “SkyAlps” has established its base at Mostar Airport.

The contract with representatives of “SkyAlps” was signed today by the mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić.

The President of the Government of Herzegovina-Neretva County, Marija Buhač, together with the Minister of Finance, Adil Šuta, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Ivo Bevanda, and the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection, Emil Balavac, took part in the contract signing ceremony at the City Hall in Mostar.

Buhač emphasized that this is a significant event both for Mostar Airport and for the City of Mostar and Herzegovina-Neretva County (HNŽ) as a whole.

She said that the constant strengthening of Mostar Airport and ensuring the best possible air connection between Mostar and HNŽ with the most important destinations in Europe and the world is one of the priorities in the work of the Government of HNŽ.

“In the Government’s Action Guidelines, we have clearly positioned tourism as a strategic branch of the development of our economy, and deeply aware of the importance of Mostar Airport in that, this year alone we allocated two million BAM of budget funds for subsidizing passenger transport, modernizing the airport’s infrastructure and ensuring the reception and shipping of aircraft, passengers and goods. Today’s act of signing the contract for the establishment of the air carrier’s base in Mostar is proof that the efforts made have borne fruit and that significant and visible progress can be made with cooperation and dedicated work,” said Buhač.

She emphasized that the HNŽ Government, in synergy with the City of Mostar, will do everything to establish as many air bridges as possible with Mostar and increase the number of flights and passengers.

“On our part, this means the continuation of strong financial support for the overall operation and development of Mostar Airport. The county and city authorities share a clear vision of a modern and technologically highly developed airport that will open up new opportunities for economic growth, further development of tourism and connecting our area with the world. That’s why we remain a partner to the City of Mostar in the time ahead, confident that results, like today’s, will not be absent,” said Buhač.

The contract signing ceremony was also attended by the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katić, Director of BHANSA Davorin Primorac and Director of Mostar Airport Marko Đuzel.
