Slovenia will donate 4.800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), as was said after the meeting of the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor with the members of the Presidency of BiH.
The vaccines will be allocated between the entities and the Brcko District, although it is not yet known when this donation will arrive in BiH.
Another topic of the meeting was migration, and it was emphasized that Slovenia’s experience can help BiH to solve the migrant crisis.
When it comes to the enlargement of the European Union (EU) to the Western Balkans, it was said at the meeting that Slovenia wants to help BiH in this regard and that the terms for further integration should be defined.
The initiative of the President of Slovenia is to treat this region in a special way.
As part of yesterday’s visit to BiH, Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, also visited the contingent of the Slovenian Army at the Butmir Military Base, which operates under the EUFOR Althea Operation at the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo. The President of the Republic of Slovenia was accompanied by the Minister of Defense Matej Tonin, as was announced by BiH Presidency.
