Sniper Alley searching for Children photographed during the Siege of Sarajevo: Do you recognize anyone?

The Sniper Alley page has published photos of children taken by United States (U.S.) photojournalist Corinne Dufka during the siege of Sarajevo. Do you recognize anyone?

“For the next 10 days, we will be sharing works by a U.S.photojournalist Corinne Dufka, who has provided us with part of her archival material in the form of negatives. After scanning and preparing the photos, as a holiday gift from Corinne, we are sharing some of her works with you. The least you can do for us and the project is to follow our page, leave a like on the photos, and share our posts. Maybe today, we can bring joy to someone!” Sniper Alley states.

Dufka began working as a photojournalist for Reuters in 1989, reporting on the conflict in El Salvador. She was in Sarajevo from 1992 to 1993 and was seriously injured during her time there.

She also witnessed the genocide in Rwanda. Her photographs were used as evidence at the International Criminal Tribunal for crimes committed in Rwanda. Additionally, she documented the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the civil war in Liberia.

A few years ago, Dzemil Hodzic launched the Sniper Alley project. His primary goal was to find a photograph of his brother Amel, who was killed. He succeeded in this, but his mission did not end there. He continues to share the truth about the crimes committed by the Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS) during the siege of our country, regularly posting photos and footage from that period.

If you recognize anyone in these photos, you can contact Sniper Alley via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or email at info@sniperalley.photo. Interviews with war photojournalists can be viewed on their YouTube channel. All photos can be seen here.
