Snow turned Sarajevo into a Winter Idyll

In the greater part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, snow began to fall intensively in the afternoon, which has already covered roads, parked cars, roofs and other surfaces. In the capital, the atmosphere seems festive.

The snow brought a touch of winter to Sarajevo, but also to other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Shortly after it began to fall, it covered the streets and created a thin layer of snow, which the youngest fellow citizens especially look forward to.

The city is full of idyllic scenes and moments, as passers-by stomp over the snowy paths and take the first photos of the white blanket for their Instagram and Facebook friends.

Apart from bringing joy to many, snow also brings traffic problems and challenges, so careful driving is recommended. It seems that winter tires have proven to be essential equipment tonight, and BIHAMK has warned of difficult traffic in some parts of the country.

“We are particularly drawing attention to sections in higher mountain areas where there is snow on the road. The warning is also due to the large number of freight vehicles vehicles that are temporarily parked on many mountain passes. Road services have been sent to the field,” BIHAMK said.

The Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton confirmed to us that they have their hands full tonight due to the large number of traffic accidents in Sarajevo. However, they point out that fortunately there were no injuries.

According to the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, snow should not fall tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, while weather apps say it will snow until midnight tonight, Klix.ba writes.
