campfireTraditional gathering before May 1, started at the picnic site Mravinjac near Gorazde. Every year on the eve of May 1, at the place of a monument to Josip Broz Tito, members of the Association of anti-fascists and many other citizens are making a campfire and enjoy singing until late night.

Despite the cold weather, a large number of citizens came to picnic site again this year and Mirsad Rasidovic-Sisko from the Association of anti-fascists made sure to keep them warm and he lit a large campfire by himself.

Members of the Cultural-artistic society Oberhausen in Germany came to Mravinjac last night as well. Thirty members of society are guests of the CAS Azot from Vítkovici and they will spend five days in the town on the Drina River, and hanging out on the eve of Labor Day is a special event that they will remember forever.

Labor Day in Gorazde will be celebrated on the place of last night’s gathering and the lighting of fires is just preparation for the celebration.

At Sadba, Modran, Orasi and other locations along the banks of the Drina River and picnic sites Rorovi and Gubavica are already prepared tents and everything needed for barbecue, a typical Bosnian way of celebrating Labor Day that will not be ruined even by the rain and quite cold weather for this time of the year.
