The municipality of Doboj Istok has declared a state of natural disaster due to the damage that the tennis ball-sized city caused to crops, buildings and cars, the director of the Tuzla Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, Zoran Jovanović, said today.

Jovanović said that even the older people of this region don’t remember the hail that fell yesterday in the afternoon, and it caused the most damage to the municipality of Doboj Istok.

“Agricultural crops, orchards, cars, greenhouses and roofs of residential buildings were damaged,” said Jovanović.

He added that the city did not bypass other areas of the Tuzla Canton – Gračanica, Lukavac, part of Tuzla, Požarnica, Živinica and other local communities.

Jovanović pointed out that the hailstorm caused a lot of damage to part of Gračanica, and that reports about the damage are still coming in and that commissions are working on the assessment, Srna writes.
