Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka made the first Integrated Chip

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka presented the first integrated chip of semiconductor technology, which represents the most sophisticated technological process. Students and professors of this faculty worked on this project, and this is the first such chip in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is estimated that on the market this chip would reach a value of 30,000 euros.

ETF students needed five years to develop the first integrated chip. Vanja Žerić and Dejan Gutić are one of the innovators of this idea. The acquired knowledge was, they say, a prerequisite for being able to begin production.

“Two chips were involved. One is a stabilizer or a voltage regulator that has the ability to stabilize voltage from 1.8 to 3.3 volts. The other was an oscillator that is necessary for such a chip,” says Vanja Žerić, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka.

Graduate engineer Dejan Gutić pointed out that the chips can be used in every circuit.

“Each electronic circuit requires an oscillator and a voltage regulator. It is very important that we have a stable voltage and clock so that all of this could work,” he added.

The chip is made according to all factory parameters, but for now it is not planned to be placed on our market.

The plan is to launch a completely new product on the global market at the beginning of next year, which is realized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in cooperation with other companies. Until then, the students of this faculty will continue to win new awards, writes RTRS.
