Roma-floodsThis week started a project to support Roma communities hit by floods in our country, which will be implemented during the next three weeks.

Project is financed by UNDP in B&H and will be implemented by World Vision B&H in cooperation with Center for Roma Support “Romalen” from Kakanj.

This project will cover about 200 Roma families in municipalities Maglaj, Doboj, Bosanski Šamac, Bijeljina, Orašje, Odžak i Brčko.

Project will be focused on solving some of the key issues that Roma Community affected by floods are facing, including the removal of destroyed infrastructure caused by this natural disaster.

Within this project will be done the delivery of food packages, hygiene products, cleaning products and disinfectants that will help families to cleanse their homes of mud and other types of dirtiness left over from the floods, and to return to their communities.

The project envisages organizing health workshops in Roma communities in order to raise awareness about the protection from possible infection in areas that were flooded, announced World Vision B&H.
