Syrian Rebels grant Amnesty to Assad Conscripts

The opposition that toppled the Syrian regime has declared a general amnesty for all members of the Syrian armed forces and all conscripts.

“They are guaranteed their safety and all attacks on them are prohibited,” it said on Telegram.

Former Syrian Prime Minister Ghazi al-Jalali told Al Arabiya TV that he had agreed to hand over power to the Syrian Salvation Government based in Idlib.

This comes after Syrian opposition forces released a video showing Ghazi al-Jalali meeting with HTS chief Ahmed al-Shara, known as al-Jolani, and Salvation Government head Mohammed al-Bashir, Al Jazeera reported.

Syrian opposition fighters who toppled al-Assad have also released prisoners across the country, while they are still searching for possible hidden underground prisons to reach people allegedly held there.

The opposition toppled the regime of Bashar al-Assad in an operation that lasted just 12 days and ended with the fall of Damascus on Sunday.

Many areas fell to the rebels without a fight.
