On the Olympic mountain Jahorina yesterday was officially opened the 64th winter season, for which they hope to be better than the previous two that were rated as the so-called “green seasons”.
The Mayor of East Sarajevo Nenad Samardzija emphasized the importance of Jahorina Mountain in the development of tourism and economy, and recalled that Jahorina represent a tourist destination which offers about 5,000 accommodation facilities, adding that Jahorina, besides Kopaonik in Serbia, is the most advanced when it comes to improving the capacity in recent years.
“The entirely snowed trails will be the number one priority in the next period,” he explained, inviting all those who are interested to get engaged in tourism and hospitality industry to do it right here.
Speaking of occupancy of their capacities, he stated that 60 to 70 % of accommodation is reserved at the moment, and that they already have about 3,000 reservations regardless of the amount of snow.
Since larger quantities of snow are expected next week, they hope that all trails on the Olympic beauty will be operational in the coming days.
Olympic Centre Jahorina organized live entertainment on the occasion of the official start of a new season, and visitors were entertained by the members of the group “Galija”.
