The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, sent a list of priority infrastructure projects to the European Commission in order to develop an economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans.

Emphasis on the Unified List of Priority Infrastructure Projects is placed on projects in the field of transport and energy.

The goal of these projects is to start economic activities, improve trade flows, create jobs, and improve the quality of life of citizens, it was announced from the office of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The Council of Ministers reminds that with the declaration from the Zagreb Summit on May 6, the European Commission announced the development of an economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans with the aim of providing long-term support for economic recovery, stimulating economic growth, improving competitiveness and approaching the EU region.

Having in mind the importance of the initiative in the context of recovery and mitigation of the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, efforts to recover the economy and launch the investment cycle, the BiH Investment Committee chaired by Tegeltija identified priority projects that will serve as initial guidelines for defining economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans, which will have the greatest impact on the overall socio-economic development of the country, as well as a significant contribution to meeting the goals related to the process of BiH’s accession to the EU, the statement said.
