The Marathon Sarajevo Association and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton inform the citizens that on Sunday, July 12, 2026, due to the ninth edition of the Imlek Impact Sarajevo Festival, in the period from 19:45 to 22:15 hours, temporary changes to the traffic regime will be introduced on certain city roads.

Traffic will be stopped in stages at the following locations:

Start and finish: Parking area of the Zetra Olympic Arena

Route: Alipašina Street – Maršala Tita – Vrbanja – Vilsonovo Šetalište – Topal Osman-paše – Patriotske Liga – Jezero – Betania – return along the same route to the finish at Zetra.

During the race, police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton will be deployed at key points of the route with the aim of regulating traffic and enabling the normalization of traffic immediately after the participants pass. In agreement with the competent services, flexible and staged measures are foreseen in order to maintain the maximum flow of vehicles wherever possible. Thanks to good coordination with the MUP, traffic is expected to be normalized immediately after the last runners have passed.

This year’s race starts at 8:30 p.m., when traffic jams are significantly less than in earlier evening times, which aims to minimize the impact on the daily movement of citizens. At the same time, the organizers ask all visitors who will be on Wilson’s promenade during the event to use only the sidewalk so that the race track remains completely free and safe for the participants.

This year, the Imlek Impact Sarajevo Festival will gather more than 800 participants from a large number of countries, confirming the status of one of the most important recreational sports events in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year’s edition gains additional value through humanitarian cooperation with the “Stariji Brat, Starija Sestra” Foundation, which means that the race, in addition to sports, also has a strong socially responsible character.

The organizers thank the citizens for their understanding due to the temporary changes to the traffic regime and invite them to go out into the streets, support the runners and be part of the sports atmosphere that Sarajevo represents this year as a city of openness, togetherness and good hospitality.
