An informal group of young people organized the tenth protest rally in Sarajevo today over the tram accident that occurred on February 12, when a student from Brčko, Erdoan Morankić, was killed and a high school student, Ella Jovanović, was seriously injured.

The gathering began at 12 o’clock in front of the National Museum, and then the participants, this time in smaller numbers than before, continued the protest march towards the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office building.

The protests were attended by students, the elderly, and parents who came again to seek justice for their children.

On this occasion, the gathered expressed their dissatisfaction with the low response of citizens.

For a month, the protests have been demanding that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the tram accident. The organizers previously presented several demands, including determining the responsibility of the authorities, ensuring safe public transport, and conducting an independent investigation into the tram accident with informing the public about its results.

They said even today that they will not give up until responsibility is determined and appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

“We will not give up the fight, we will continue in order to raise awareness among other people as well. We don’t need another tragedy,” they said, Fena reports.
