Production in both pit plants of the Subsidiary company Brown Coal Mines Zenica, whose account was unblocked yesterday, was restored last night in the third shift – announced in a statement the president of the Trade Union of the “Raspotocje” Subsidiary company Brown Coal Mines Zenica Nedzad Durakovic.

The company’s account has been unblocked, and an announced payment of the tranche for the payment of wages for around 900 workers of this mine from the account of Elektroprivreda BiH is expected. Yesterday, the miners received their February salary and compensation for a paid meal for January.

The account was unblocked after yesterday’s meeting in City Administration of the City of Zenica, at which Mayor Fuad Kasumovic agreed to implement the conclusions of the City Council and unblock the account, and by May 10th of this year, Brown Coal Mine Zenica should submit to the City of Zenica the text of the agreement on the repayment of a debt of approximately 3.050.000 BAM for default interest.

Kasumovic allocates 100.000 BAM for miners from the budget of the City of Zenica

The councilors of the parliamentary majority in the Zenica City Council yesterday asked the mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumovic, to allocate 100.000 BAM from the budget of the City of Zenica to help miners.

Councilor in the City Council, Denan Pasalic, said that this help for the miners would come in handy, especially considering that Eid al-Fitr is coming.

“We asked the mayor to provide funds in the budget that would be symbolic, Eid gifts for the miners. Mayor Kasumovic respected us and accepted our request, for which we are grateful. And this time he clearly showed that he is with the miners,” Pasalic stated.

Councilor Ekrem Tuka especially emphasized that during this request they really took into account the interest of the city, so they do not jeopardize the budget.

“Bearing in mind all the crises and problems the miners have gone through, we have decided and are asking the mayor to allocate 100.000 BAM to overcome the crisis. Of course, their account has been unblocked, and they will soon receive their salaries, but they would also benefit from this kind of help,” said Tuka, as reported by the Public Relations Department of the City of Zenica.
