The Assembly of the Canton of Sarajevo today dismissed the duties of the Prime Minister of the Canton of Sarajevo, Nihad Uk, and the entire Government of this Canton.
Of the 35 deputies present, 21 voted for the dismissal of Uk, while 13 deputies were against and one abstained. There was a similar balance of power when declaring about the Sarajevo Canton Government itself.
“You can’t have a specific decision, then interpret it differently depending on the situation. We have already dismissed Edin Forto, who took over another position, but not the members of the CS Government, who remained,” said Bandić.
Representative of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Mahir Dević claims that Prime Minister Uk is resigning in order to unconstitutionally remove ministers from SBiH.
“The only way to determine this is for the representatives to re-sign the request for checking the constitutionality of the harmonization of the Law on Government and the Rules of Procedure of the CS”, he said.
He explained that according to the Constitution of the FBiH, the Constitution of the CS and the Rules of Procedure of the CS, the mandate of the minister can end in two ways, by the resignation of the minister or by the dismissal of the Government initiated autonomously by the Assembly of the CS.
The President of the CS Legislative Commission Aljoša Čampara (NiP) said that the legal basis for making the Decision on accepting the resignation of the Prime Minister of the CS is contained in the Law on the Government of the CS, which stipulates that the Prime Minister and members of the Government can resign and that the Prime Minister submits his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly.
“When the prime minister resigns, it is stated in that law, it is considered that all members of the government have resigned and that both the prime minister and the government will perform all tasks within their competence, until the appointment of a new government,” explained Campara.
The opposition was also not clear on what basis it was concluded that there is no parliamentary majority, because the past session is proof that laws and reports are being adopted.
As previously announced, the majority will use the opportunity to replace certain ministers and that members of the CS Government will no longer be Health Minister Haris Vranić (SDP) and Minister of Higher Education Pavle Krstić (NS).
