The Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo introduces overtime to reduce Waiting Lists

The Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) has decided to introduce overtime in order to reduce waiting lists, the KCUS announced.

As stated by the Acting General Director of KCUS, Dr. Alen Pilav, a month ago, an electronic ordering system was introduced through the Health Insurance Institute of Canton Sarajevo (CS) eNarudzbe platform, which facilitates and speeds up the process of scheduling appointments for examinations at KCUS.

He states that so far the results are more than satisfactory, because, as he points out, thousands of patients have received an appointment in this way.

“This system allows doctors to directly schedule an appointment for further examinations and tests at the KCUS, immediately after the examination. Patients are thus saved from additional effort and scheduling an appointment independently. This is one of the ways in which we want to facilitate and speed up the treatment process for patients,” said Dr. Pilav.

He notes that there are certain difficulties in this project as well, but that they are trying to solve them.

“We have had a certain number of cases where patients came to the clinics who had a previous appointment for a control examination on a certain day, but without the exact schedule of the appointment. This represented an additional burden for doctors, whose appointments were filled to the max, so they could not always meet and receive all the additional patients. However, we have agreed with the clinics that they will find a way to receive all patients who have an appointment for check-ups during this transitional period if they have enough capacity for that. This problem is of a temporary nature because new checkup appointments are already being ordered via the eNarudzbe platform with the correct date and time,” he adds.
