The beginning of construction of the first section of highway Doboj-Banja Luka, from Doboj to Prnjavor has started today, reports Fena.
The highway subsection is 36 kilometres long and the cost of it is 180 million EUR.
The companies to work on this subsection are ‘Integral inžinjering’ from Laktaši and ‘Granit’ from Skopje.
The credit of 150 million EUR for the construction was given by the European Bank for Development and Reconstruction with the guarantee of entity and BiH.
After opening the construction, president of RS Milorad Dodik said that around 1 billion EUR of investments are secured and noted that this subsection will be integrated in the network of highways noting that investments in the construction of the corridor 5C is to follow and construction of highway to Brčko and Bijeljina are to follow as well.
RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović said that this subsection is very important for RS because it will contribute to its development and added that projects in energy sectors and textile industry are being carried out, and new jobs are being created.
RS Minister of Transport and Communications Nedeljko Čubrilović said that the construction of this part of highway is one of the biggest investments in RS, and added that he hopes that by the end of the year, all preparatory works will be done, and in one month the construction of 500 metres bridge over the Bosna river should start.
With this project, the construction of the highway Banja Luka- Doboj, with length of 72 kilometres, has begun.
