The Court of BiH declared itself incompetent in the case against the suspended president of this court, Ranko Debevac, and the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Osman Mehmedagić.

Judge Dalida Burzić explained that a person who is the president of the court cannot be tried, so this case should be taken over by POSKOK.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Ranko Debevac and Osman Mehmedagić last week and forwarded it to the Court of BiH for confirmation, and they are now expected to appeal the decision to drop the case.

As a reminder, the Court of BiH confirmed in early July that it had received the indictment from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which charges Ranko Debevac, the suspended president of the Court of BiH, Osman Mehmedagić, the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) of BiH, and Milisav Pijuk with a series of criminal offenses.

In the case of Debevac, the charges are abuse of position or authority in complicity, forgery of an official document in complicity, and receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence.

Under count four, he is charged with receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence, and under count five of the indictment for unauthorized wiretapping and audio or optical recording in complicity.

Under count six, Debevac is charged with a criminal offense under the Law on Gender Equality of BiH and false representation.

Osman Mehmedagić is suspected of abuse of position or authority in complicity, and under count seven of forgery of an official document, and under count eight of the indictment for abuse of position or authority.

Milisav Pijuk is suspected of unauthorized wiretapping and audio or optical recording in complicity, and under count six of the indictment for a criminal offense under the Law on Gender Equality of BiH and false representation.

“The decision of the Court on the received indictment will be made within the deadline prescribed by law,” the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated at the time.
