The CS Government did not accept the Union’s Demands, a large Protest was announced

Representatives of the trade unions in Sarajevo Canton and the Government of Sarajevo Canton held a meeting today in the building of the Government of Sarajevo Canton to determine the basis for calculating workers’ salaries in 2025, at which the Government of Sarajevo Canton stated that it does not accept the demands of the trade unions for the payment of a one-time financial assistance and an increase in the basis for calculating salaries in 2025.

As stated in the statement, after this meeting, the Coordination of Trade Unions made a decision to hold a protest rally in front of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, on Friday, November 29, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The protest rally is being organized and held with the aim of expressing general dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Government of Sarajevo Canton on issues of respecting trade unions as social partners, increasing wages to workers in 2025, and paying one-time financial assistance to workers in 2024.

The persons responsible for organizing and holding the protest rally are the presidents of the trade unions that make up the Coordination of Trade Unions.

The decision was signed by the presidents of the unions that make up the Coordination (Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of the Sarajevo Canton, Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees in Civil Service Bodies, Judiciary and Public Institutions in the FBiH – Coordination Board of Trade Union Organizations of the Sarajevo Canton, Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Cantonal Board of the Sarajevo Canton, Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science and Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Cantonal Board of the Sarajevo Canton, Independent Union of Municipal Economy Workers of the Sarajevo Canton, Union of Health Workers of the Sarajevo Canton and Police Union of the Sarajevo Canton.

In addition, at today’s meeting, the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, said that the Government does not want to take on new obligations that it cannot realize due to considerations and other things.

He added that the Government of the Sarajevo Canton therefore planned a base of 385 BAM for the next year.

In addition to the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, the meeting was also attended by Ministers Admir Katica, Adna Mesihović, Enda Pavić Pečenković, Bojan Bošnjak, Afan Kalamujić and Naida Hota Muminović, as well as the presidents of seven trade unions that make up the Coordination of Trade Unions in Sarajevo Canton, as well as representatives of the Trade Union of the University of Sarajevo, according to a statement from the Trade Union of Sarajevo Canton.
