The European Union is helping BiH with 6.6 Million EUR?

12969241_1755912621312081_1606874963_nThe first meeting of the Project Board of the project “Local integrated development” (LID) funded by the European Union, was held on Monday in Sarajevo.

The project is part of the recently started EU program for local development and employment, which represents a continuation of the program for flood recovery, and it will also support local economic development as well as local NGOs.

From a total of 58 municipalities and cities in BiH, who applied to the public invitation, the project “Local integrated development” will be implemented in Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Celinac, Doboj, Foca, Gorazde, Gradiska, Konjic, Mostar, Maglaj, Modrica, Novi Grad, Odzak, Orasje, Prijedor, Srebrenik, Samac, Tuzla, Vares, Zepce and Zivinice.

LID project, 6.6 million EUR worth, is implemented by UNDP, in the attempt to improve the living standards of more than 100,000 citizens of BiH through the support of inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development, strengthening of good management practices and the development of local infrastructure and services, especially in flood affected areas, as well as cities and municipalities with a large number of returnees and displaced persons.

The project “Local Integrated Development” that is funded by the European Union, UNDP will realize through the three-year period from 2016 to 2018 in partnership with the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, the Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the FBiH, Ministry of Public Administration and Local self-Government of RS and two associations of municipalities and cities in the FBiH and RS.
