13289018_1772838909619452_967039642_nThe official opening of the exhibition “Apocalypse” by Dzeko Hodzic took place on Saturday, the 21st of May in Historical Museum of BiH, on the occasion of International Museum Day.

At the exhibition was presented a large triptych – painting entitled “Apocalypse” and the accompanying drawings of the same cycle (drawings and paintings).

Triptych “Apocalypse” (oil on canvas, dimensions: 4.88 x 2.20m) with allegorical presentation incorporates thread that scraped through human society from its beginning to the present day: the mercilessness of war and senselessness of war suffering, always with the figure of a man who becomes an animal in the war – a beast or a victim.

Mental awareness of conquerors has not changed throughout the history; costumes, tools and weapons have been changing, bit the consequences remained the same.

Numerous writers, professors, artists, art historians and cultural workers left their impressions on the work “Apocalypse” by Dzeko Hodzic in the form of essay, art critic or songs, among which are: Ibrahim Kajan, Ljubica Ostojic, Besim Spahic, Edin Numankadic, Gradimir Gojer Vojislav Vujanovic, Zilhad Kljucanin, Sacir Filandra and many others. About 30 written reviews should be included in the monograph “Apocalypse”, which Dzeko Hodzic is currently preparing for publication.

Dzeko Hodzic was born on December 8, 1950 in Godijevo, Bijelo Polje, Montenegrin part of Sandzak. He held 67 solo exhibitions and 530 group exhibitions, and won 12 awards for his artistic work, including the Federal Award “Ivo Karamatijevic” International Award “Premio Mandraccio” Opatija, Grand Prix for drawing on the exhibition Anale crteza Mostar, Purchase Award of the city of Wasserburg – Germany, Award for installation at the exhibition “Collegium Artisticum” and many others.

He exhibited in BiH, Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Canada, the USA and Switzerland. His works are placed in many galleries, museums and private collections in our country and abroad.
