The exhumation was completed in the well located in the yard of the house in Brčko, and on that occasion no remains of the war victims were found, it was confirmed for Klix.ba from the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the past two days, the team of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina carried out an exhumation in the yard of a privately owned house in the Meraje settlement in Brčko.

On that occasion, a seven-meter-deep well was cleaned due to information that it contained the remains of one or two victims of the past war.

“The exhumation was completed yesterday, and on that occasion no remains were found,” Emza Fazlić, spokeswoman for the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed for Klix.ba.

In the past two days, in addition to the members of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were also the owner of the house, members of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the police, as well as the acting pathologist.

The news about the possible discovery of mortal remains in the well located in the yard of the house disturbed the public in Brcko.

Such a reaction followed, because earlier in that city in the yard of a private house, more precisely in a fountain, the bricked-up remains of a victim of the past war were found.
