After the information was published three days ago that 500 European Union Force Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR BiH) soldiers are coming to BiH, who will be accommodated in the Butmir camp near Sarajevo, the first group of soldiers arrived on Saturday night.

The soldiers come from Austria, Romania, Slovakia, and Bulgaria.

As it was announced, EUFOR soldiers are coming to BiH due to the deterioration of international security and as a precaution, and EUFOR stated that the current security situation in BiH is stable.

On Saturday night, reporters welcomed the first team of EUFOR forces at the toll booths in Josanica. The second part of the troops arrives at the beginning of this week.

”As a precaution, four military groups with about 500 EUFORtroops stationed outside BiH will be deployed in BiH over the next two weeks as reinforcements to existing forces. The deteriorating security situation at the international level could potentially cause instability in BiH. The deployment of these forces is a precautionary measure, taken to strengthen stability in BiH, by positioning a sufficient number of capable forces in the country to support BiH institutions in maintaining a secure and stable environment,” EUFOR announced.
