Milorad Dodik, a member of the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) said on Saturday that BiH does not have a unified position in foreign policy because, according to him, that policy is implemented by the SDA. Shortly afterwards the answer of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turkovic, followed.
In his usual style, Dodik stated that BiH’s foreign policy was “conducted by the SDA through Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic and her stuffy political kitchen, which often prepares hatred towards Serbs and the Republika Srpska (RS) and everything that has civilizational features.”
He thinks that this kind of alienated Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH has turned into a tool for political manipulation.
The head of BiH diplomacy reacted to his statements, who, to recall, was also elected by the votes of the members of Dodik’s SNSD.
“BiH has a Constitution, laws, and international agreements that are above any politician, even those that harm citizens through blockades and blackmail. Everything I do as Minister of Foreign Affairs is in accordance with the Constitution, laws, international treaties, and strategic documents. All of them were signed by representatives of the citizens and all constituent peoples and others in BiH. It is the obligation of all to respect and implement them, “ Turkovic wrote.
The Minister reminded Dodik that the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union (EU) was signed on behalf of BiH by Nikola Spiric, and according to that agreement, BiH must harmonize its foreign policy with the EU, while the Partnership for Peace, which paved BiH’s path to NATO, was signed 15 years ago by Nebojsa Radmanovic.
“Mr. Dodik, BiH is not a state from yesterday, it is older than irresponsible daily political manipulations and misinformation. Instead of condemning violence and war, you are trying, obviously in someone else’s interest, to relativize the clear position of BiH, and I am sure the position of all its citizens is against war and conflicts anywhere in the world, including Ukraine,” she pointed out.
To recall, Milorad Dodik, as a member of the Presidency of BiH, did not stand by his colleagues Zeljko Komsic and Sefik Dzaferovic in their support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and did not condemn the Russian aggression.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who is Dodik‘s role model, unlike the leader of BiH party SNSD at least recognized the territorial integrity of Ukraine and continued its “balanced policy”.
