The new United States (U.S.) Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Michael Murphy, addressed in a video message to the citizens of BiH, stating that the priority in his work will be to support the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, reforms, as well as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH.
“My priority as U.S. Ambassador will be to support the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as state-level reforms agreed upon by your elected officials and, most importantly, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH,” Murphy explained.
Also, he added that he was honored to lead “a great and talented team of Americans and local staff working daily in Sarajevo, Mostar, and Banja Luka to promote the U.S. interest in an independent, democratic, multiethnic, and prosperous BiH.”
“I am very happy to be coming to BiH again, where I worked as the head of the Political Department from 2006 to 2009. We have made many contacts with people in BiH. You welcomed us last time we were here, so we can‘t wait to work with you again, “ he noted.
Murphy stressed that the U.S. will help make BiH a democraticand prosperous state. He succeeded Eric Nelson as ambassador.
