The Government of the FBiH determined the Amount of the lowest Salary

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted today, at a telephone session, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Decision on the amount of the minimum wage for 2026. The minimum wage for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2026 is set at a net amount of 1,027 BAM.

As stated in the explanation, the method of determining the minimum wage, the adjustment and the deadline for adjustment are prescribed by the Regulation on the Methodology for Calculating and Adjusting the Minimum Wage, according to which the minimum wage for the following calendar year is adjusted by the end of the current year, in such a way that the adjustment is carried out, according to data from the Federal Institute of Statistics, in the amount of the sum of 50 percent of the increase in consumer prices and 50 percent of the increase in gross domestic product in the Federation of BiH in the current year for the period January – September, and after consultations with the Economic and Social Council.

At the session of the Economic and Social Council for the territory of the Federation of BiH, held on December 18 this year, the social partners discussed and agreed on the amount of the minimum wage for 2026, which was determined in accordance with Article 5 of the Regulation.

Based on the data provided by the Federal Institute of Statistics, consumer prices in the Federation of BiH increased by 3.6 percent, and the real growth of gross domestic product in the Federation of BiH is 1.8 percent. In accordance with the above, the minimum wage for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2026 is set in the net amount of 1,027 BAM, which represents an increase in the minimum wage by 2.7 percent compared to the minimum wage established for 2025, the Public Relations Office of the Government of the Federation of BiH announced.
