The Iranian Ambassador to Serbia denied the Genocide in Srebrenica

The Srebrenica Memorial Center is calling for an urgent public statement from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) regarding the relativization of the genocide in Srebrenica through statements made by Iran’s Ambassador to Serbia, Rashid Hassan Pour Baei.

The Iranian Ambassador in Belgrade, during an appearance on a local TV station in Serbia, stated that a crime had been committed in Srebrenica, which Serbia acknowledges.

“This fact is being presented in a very incorrect way. It is absolutely condemnable to use this event as a political instrument for their goals. There is a hidden agenda behind it,” Ambassador Pour Baei said, as reported by Serbian media.

The Iranian Ambassador in Serbia also stated that “presenting the Serbian people as genocidal is absolutely with political intentions and goals.”

“If it becomes a rule to declare people genocidal, they can apply it in many places. We absolutely condemn any attempt to politically instrumentalize any event. Regardless of attempts to disguise it under various names,” Pour Baei said.
