The Largest Hike in the History of B&H: More than 300 Hikers in the touristic Village Lukomir

Hiking to Lukomir nap.baMore than 300 hikers and nature lovers left on Saturday morning to the Lukomir village on the Bjelašnica. Located at 1.495 meters above sea level, it is the highest settlement in B&H.

This is the most numerous hike of the mountaineers to Lukomir in the history of the hikers of B&H. Muamer Drugovac, one of the guides of this interesting climbing expedition, said that the group of hikers would be even greater if the weather was more stable.

”More than 700 people have announced to join us fort the expedition today, but many gave up because of the unstable weather”, said Drugovac, adding that they have nevertheless broke the national record when it comes to mountain hikes.

The organizer of yesterday’s trip to Lukomir is the ”Avantur” Association, Mountaineering-Sports Society ”Prijatelj prirode”, MS ”Energoinvest”, and the MS ”Visočica”, with the help of friends from the Mountain Rescue Service Sarajevo, as well as friends from Visoko, Tuzla, Mostar, Zenica, Kakanj, Olovo, Busovača..

The hikers have come to Umoljani with cars and buses, from where they climbed to Lukomir over the Obalj peak (1.896 meters above sea level). They returned from Lukomir to Umoljani via the Studeni Creek.
