The announcement of the opening of a quarry at the Bukovacki potok locality near Bugojno disturbed the local population. While the locals claim that everything is being done without laws and procedures, and the investor refutes all this, pointing out that he has adequate documentation for everything, the executive and legislative authorities of Bugojno do not say a word about this.
After learning about the opening of a quarry in the territory of their local community, the residents of Porica, Bugojno, express their displeasure because, as they say, they were not previously consulted by the authorities who should have informed them about the project that is planned to be implemented in their local community through public hearings.
“We will investigate who gave the permits, on what basis they were given, so we certainly will not stop until we stop this, until this is stopped, because we have really been skipped in all the combinations for giving consent. I can’t believe that someone gave consent without the local community, without the locals,” points out Rusmir Hrnjica, president of the Local Community of Porica.
“The people in Duga managed to prevent the construction of a power station, a mini power station that would damage the environment, the people in Kruscica also prevented it, why don’t we try and solve this problem once and for all,” says local resident Alija Colakhodzic.
In the past period, the locals have also signed a petition that they will forward to the authorities in the Bugojno municipality, who, according to their claims, are the most responsible for giving consent for the start of a quarry in Porice.
“I think that the law is on our side 99.9 percent and we will persevere in that, we will just stick to the law and we are not afraid,” emphasizes local resident Amer Hozic.
The Bukovacki potok location as a location for a quarry has been present since the 70s of the last century, says the investor, who, as he points out, has been working on completing the necessary documentation necessary for the start of exploitation works since 2004. He also claims that the procedure for these types of jobs was fully followed.
“This is the interest of only one man who is trying to use his fellow citizens for his own interest, for nothing else, and as for the papers, I will give the papers to everyone for inspection, because I have all the proper papers. Of course, if something bigger comes up, then I will also give my papers to the institutions, so that they can decide who is right here and who is wrong,” says investor Ibro Mandara.
The chairman of the Bugojno Municipal Council, Miroslav Zelic, as well as the municipal mayor, Hasan Ajkunic, did not respond to BHRT’s call for statements on the mentioned topic. When it comes to the conflicting views of the locals and investors, the judicial authorities will certainly have the final say on everything.
