The Minister of Waqf and Islamic Affairs of Qatar, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, is coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for a multi-day working visit next week.

Minister Al Ghanim, who will be in BiH from September 11thto 15th, will have a series of high-level meetings and visit several cities in BiH, where he will learn about the implementation of projects in various areas financed by the Qatar government.

The high official will meet on Wednesday, September 13th, during separate visits, with the member of the Presidency Denis Becirovic, the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament Denis Zvizdic and the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees Sevlid Hurtic.

A day earlier, on September 12th, Al Ghanim will talk with the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazovic, after which he will visit the Gazi Husrev-beg library, which was built with the funds of the State of Qatar, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo, the Women’s Madrasa facility within the Gazi Husrev-beg madrasa, and RTV “BIR”.

Official Doha is currently implementing extremely valuable projects in Sarajevo, Zenica, Lukavac, Travnik and Fojnica.

Qatar and BiH are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral cooperation this year. On this occasion, in July of this year, Becirovic assessed that the bilateral relations between BiH and Qatar are very good and friendly.

Good bilateral cooperation has been present continuously for many years, and 2023 is the year in which we celebrate three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

He added that there is much that could be singled out as a result of good relations and cooperation between our two friendly countries, because Qatar provided continuous humanitarian, political, economic and military support to BiH both bilaterally and within the framework of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He recalled the support in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, but also in previous years during catastrophic floods, when 45 tons of aid were delivered to citizens in flooded areas of BiH. Reisu-l-ulema Kavazovic previously also said that the State of Qatar is a friendly country, which has always helped and stood by BiH.

Sending words of gratitude, he then stated that Qatar is the pride of the Muslim world, and that it is a very organized country, which has goals and knows where it is going. He said at the time that “with great love, our gaze is directed to Qatar”, Klix.ba reports.
