Ambassador of Russia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabuhov and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik opened the Office of the Russian Embassy in Banja Luka today.

Before that, the Russian national anthem was sung and the flag of the Russian Federation was raised on a six-meter-high flagpole.

Ambassador Kalabuhov and President Dodik spoke at the solemn ceremony, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, spoke via video link.

On the occasion of the opening of the Office and the Day of Russia – on June 12, at the “Bosna” hotel in Banja Luka at 2:00 p.m., a formal reception will be held, hosted by Ambassador Kalabuhov.

With the opening of a new diplomatic representation of the Russian Federation, as a branch of the mother Embassy in Sarajevo, Russia will join the countries that already have their offices in Banja Luka.

In May 2022, the Government of Russia accepted the proposal to open the Office of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Srpska, Srna writes.
