The Office of the High Representative (OHR), on the occasion of filling one of the vacant positions in the Constitutional Court of BiH, reminds the authorities at all levels in BiH of their obligation to ensure the smooth operation of the Constitutional Court of BiH in full capacity, in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement – it was announced today from the OHR on the occasion of the appointment of Marin Vukoja as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As they point out, an independent and impartial judicial system is the basic guarantee of the rule of law and democracy.

”OHR expects the RS authorities to do the same and fulfill their obligation under the BiH Constitution by appointing the remaining judges of the Constitutional Court. There is no argument against it,” underlines the OHR.

As a reminder, at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH last night, Marin Vukoja was elected to the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was decided on the basis of 51 votes in favor, 38 against and no abstentions.

With the election of Vukoja, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not filled, but it will no longer function on the edge of a quorum.
