Newly elected BiH Presidency Member condemns the Decision by CRA Director

The newly elected member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, condemned the move by the Director of the Communications Regulatory Agency (CRA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Draško Milinović, to impose rigorous measures against FACE TV and journalist Senad Hadžifejzović, which is based on a wrong perception of a statement about Milorad Dodik, the SDP BiH announced.

He believes that the members of the regime want to introduce media darkness in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I condemn this extremely worrying move by the director of CRA against Face TV and journalist Senad Hadžifejzović, not only because of the fact that it is based on a misinterpreted statement of the journalist. Apart from the fact that the journalist, when asking a question on the show, did not state what Milinović heard, because there is a huge difference between the words ‘kill’ and ‘pacify’, (ubiti and umiriti), the director o CRA demonstrated with this move that he is only acting according to the political dictates of Milorad Dodik,” said Bećirović.

As Bećirović points out, the director of CRA, whose appointment was disputed from the beginning, because even at the head of the public broadcaster RTRS he acted as an obedient soldier of the ruling party, continues to do the same as the director of an important state agency, which is unacceptable.

Bećirović reminds that CRA, which is now managed by Milinović, previously imposed as many as 19 executive measures or sanctions against RTRS and Milinović himself “due to bias towards one policy, censorship, or violation of the postulate of professional reporting”.

Unfortunately, he concluded, it is obvious that true media freedom, independence and transparent work of the media do not correspond to those political structures that should work to strengthen them, warned the SDP BiH.
