Citizens will have to travel as much as 40 kilometers for banking services
The citizens of Rudo are outraged by the fact that today they are left without the only bank in town and that they will have to travel 40 kilometers in one direction to Višegrad for the smallest banking services.
That a local community is regressing and declining economically and demographically is shown by the lower number of students enrolled in school, the reduced number of electricity consumers, the change in the age structure of the population and other factors. Capital turnover is lower, so bank branches are closing, TV BN reported.
Such is the case in the municipality of Rudo, where the only bank in the town has stopped working. Citizens are in disbelief.
The bank’s counters are closed, whoever managed to complete the payment or payment has done so, and tomorrow the door will already be locked.
“As it started, it is possible for the municipality to close,” says one pensioner.
“For the town to be without a bank is unheard of, it means that in order to pay the electricity bill I have to go to Višegrad,” answers another angrily.
“I guess another bank will open a branch office here,” hopes one of the citizens.
The closure of the bank will also affect the few businessmen and entrepreneurs in Rudo who say that payments by electronic means and by mail are delayed by several days, so it turns out that the payer is unreliable and unprofessional.
There were two banks in Rudo 15 years ago. In this small town, the local butcher has also recently closed.
