At yesterday‘s presentation of the joint candidate of seven Bosniak opposition parties for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, the party presidents addressed the public.
SDP President Nermin Niksic said at the beginning that they had been working seriously on this process for a significant period, which ended yesterday.
“You saw for yourself in this crisis that BiH was without a diplomatic-consular network. We want the most competent candidates to be appointed there,” Niksic said.
He pointed out that the support will not be limited only to the present parties, but also to the additional number of parties that will support Becirovic.
“Becirovic is a man who must win for the second time in order to win a mandate in the Presidency. I am sure that with this kind of support in the next elections, we will get a member of the Presidency who will be the representative of all citizens,” Niksic stressed.
The president of SBB, Fahrudin Radoncic, also addressed the gathering.
“Without any pathos, today we are attending perhaps the most important moment after the end of the aggression on BiH. For the first time, we have a united opposition that will fight for a state without division,” Radoncic pointed out yesterday, and added that this group of parties has the strength of the “reinforced concrete”.
He thinks that Becirovic is an experienced and stable politician and that he is completely sure that he will know how to answer the task.
The President of the People and Justice (Narod i Pravda), Elmedin Konakovic, said that the gathering of the opposition is a precedent that was never seen after the aggression, and that there were attempts, but not in this way.
“If we had thought about us personally and about our parties, we would probably have held more press conferences today. We decided on a completely different thing. We thank Becirovic for agreeing to be the most exposed. If anyone was involved in mathematics, we would be on this other side today, “ Konakovic explained yesterday.
In the end, he added that they have different ideological views but with one common goal and that is strengthening BiH. He called on the Party of Democratic Action to support the candidacy of DF President Zeljko Komsic, Klix.ba writes.
