On the occasion of the upcoming 10th of December, the International Human Rights Day, the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina used the opportunity to stress the importance of equal access to fundamental rights, respect for the rule of law, and public institutions as key pillars of democratic and pluralistic societies.

In order to mark the  International Human Rights Day, the Mission and the Banja Luka City Administration will support youth-led public initiatives where NGOs, students and youth groups will gather at the Banja Luka Youth Center to distribute materials, deliver presentations and generate dialogue on protecting human rights and promoting respect and diversity.

In Sarajevo, the OSCE Mission and Save the Children B&H organization, will host a round table within the Index for Inclusion project, promoting the creation of safe, healthy, inclusive, and equitable educational environments that are conducive to excellence in learning.

“While we praise the progress made in recent years, a number of important challenges lie ahead of us. The OSCE remains prepared to assist the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina  in fulfilling their human rights obligations,” – said Nina Suomalainen, Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to B&H.
