The path to success can be easy and fast, but in some cases, it is hard and thorny
Janko Ilic, director of Nestle for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), started his career as a worker in a warehouse.
Ilic talked about his professional path so far, which started in the warehouse of a local company, then he stayed in the United States (U.S.) for a short time, but after his return, he began to deal more seriously with sales, business management, and the like.
”I started as a storekeeper, and after two and a half years I progressed to the invoice department. Soon, an opportunity arose for a job as a salesman, a trader in the field, which was my dream until then, to work in the field, so that my phone doesn’t stop ringing,” Ilic said in the “I have an idea” (”Imam ideju”)podcast of the Bljesak.info portal.
The first experience in sales was gained, but then came the next life challenge – going to the U.S.
”In 2015, I left BiH for half a year to go to the U.S., just to see what life is like, as they say, ”over there”. I was lucky enough to go to New York, where I have relatives. However, that ‘American dream’ looked like this: In order to get to work at 8 a.m. in the neighboring state of Connecticut, I had to get up at 4 a.m. And if you manage to get home at 9 p.m., you came early,” said Ilic, whose first job in the U.S. was quite difficult, and it involved processing stone outdoors.
”I decided to return to Banja Luka, at first I didn’t have a job for a month or two, and then the opportunity arose to start working for the distribution company MCI from Siroki Brijeg, which is the Nestle distributor for BiH. In this case, it was about the position of sales manager for the Banja Luka region,” told Ilic.
As for the Nestle company itself, he reminded that it is the world’s largest food producer, a company that records continuous growth and development, and for years they have put care for the environment first, with the goals of zero emissions of harmful gases by 2050, complete recycling of packaging and other ways of participating in global environmental goals, Biznis Info reports.
