The Price of Oil on the World Market recorded increased

The price of oil on the world market increased today after Washington announced new strikes on groups associated with Iran in the Middle East, and Ukrainian drones hit the largest refinery in the south of Russia.

In London, the price of Brent crude oil from the North Sea rose by 26 cents or 0.3 percent and is now at $77.59 per barrel. In New York, the price of light crude oil is higher by 13 cents or 0.2 percent and is 72.41 dollars per barrel.

Both types of oil were down about seven percent at the end of last week after data from America indicated that the unemployment rate was lower than expected and that some progress was made in the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas.

Investors remain worried about a further escalation of conflict in the Middle East as the US suggested it would launch new strikes against armed groups linked to Iran in response to a deadly strike that killed US soldiers in Jordan.
